DESCRIPTION:This two-day workshop gives attendees a foundational framework for successful beekeeping in our unique desert environment and will be split between classroom learning and hands-on apiary training. This course is taught by Amy Rogers of Desert Hives. \nParticipants will focus on how beekeepers can help the bees meet their needs of good habitat\, nutrition\, and disease resistance. You’ll also receive resources for continuing your beekeeping education (information on local and state beekeeping organizations and online resources). Bring your binoculars\, and water bottles\, and be sure to wear your hats and comfortable shoes. \nThis event is included with the price of museum admission\, and all El Rancho de Las Golondrinas members get in free with a reservation. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Parking permitted in the lot off W Frontage Rd until 10am. Explore the historic structures and chat with spirits lit by candlelight\, follow the farolitos under a starlight sky\, roast marshmallows and make s’mores at our bonfire stops\, and enjoy live entertainment with a brew or two. \nBeneath colorful cottonwoods and historic buildings\, enjoy an evening of enchantment\, where the past meets the present in a hauntingly beautiful experience. DESCRIPTION:Phenology is the timing of plant life cycle events such as leafing out\, flowering and producing seeds.  Come learn about why tracking plant phenology is important\, and what plants are being tracked at the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve. Offered spring\, summer\, and fall\, join one or all three walks to discover seasonal changes of plants at the Preserve. SUMMARY:Early Bird Wednesdays (November 4)
DESCRIPTION:Calling all birders! We heard your cry for more access during peak birding hours. In 2026\, all birders can join us for Early Bird Wednesdays with exclusive direct access to the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve from 7am-10am. Bring your binoculars\, and water bottles\, and be sure to wear your hats and comfortable shoes. \nThis event is included with the price of museum admission\, and all El Rancho de Las Golondrinas members get in free with a reservation. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Parking permitted in the lot off W Frontage Rd until 10am.
