SUMMARY:A Mindful Immersion at the Wetlands
DESCRIPTION:As we settle into 2026\, there’s something wonderfully grounding about choosing a wellness habit that doesn’t require a gym membership\, expensive equipment\, or even leaving your local area. Forest bathing: or shinrin-yoku as it’s known in Japan: might just be the most accessible\, science-backed wellbeing practice you’ll discover this year. Forest bathing is beautifully simple: it’s the practice of mindfully immersing yourself and engaging all your senses to create a deeper connection with nature. No hiking boots required\, no summit to conquer: just you\, the wetlands\, and a willingness to slow down. \nJuly 12 | 10am-noon \nGeneral $20 | Members $15 | Purchase tickets here

SUMMARY:Echo Exploration
DESCRIPTION:Teresa is a bat conservationist\, storyteller\, and nonprofit leader whose career began in photography and unexpectedly led her into the world of bats. Over nearly a decade managing one of the largest bat image archives in the world\, she built international conservation campaigns\, led fieldwork across four continents\, and grew a global community of bat advocates. She now works at the intersection of art\, science\, and immersive technology\, exploring how wonder and human-nature connection can drive real\, lasting change. \nJoin us for an evening celebrating one of the most misunderstood and most magnificent animals on Earth. Bat conservationist and storyteller Teresa takes us on a journey through the wonderful world of bats: their lives\, their roles in ecosystems\, and the surprising connections they’ve sparked across cultures and continents. After the talk\, we’ll head outside for a live bat walk on the museum grounds\, where you can listen for real bats using an echolocation detector and find your own bat voice with EchoVision\, a mixed reality experience that lets you perceive the world through sound\, just like a bat does. Whether you’re a lifelong nature lover or a total bat skeptic\, this night will change the way you see and hear the world around you. \nPurchase tickets here! \n*Also included with the event is a bat themed tin stamping activity
