Policies & Expectations
El Rancho de Las Golondrinas strives to interpret New Mexico’s history and culture in a safe and welcoming environment. For the safety of our visitors, volunteers, staff members, and farm animals, and to protect the natural landscape, we ask that you respect the following policies while at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas.
- Racist, sexist, or homophobic comments or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- No pets are allowed on the property, only service animals.
- Do not leave animals unattended in your vehicle. Animal Control will be notified.
- Do not smoke or drink alcohol anywhere on the property.
- Do not bring weapons of any kind onto the property.
- Commercial photography, filming, and art on the property require a permit.
- Drones are not permitted.
- Do not pick plants or crops.
- Do not handle items in the exhibits without the permission of a staff member or historical interpreter. There are many opportunities for hands-on experiences throughout the museum, but please respect that some objects are fragile.
- Do not feed the farm animals or wildlife.
- Do not climb on, damage, or vandalize our historic buildings, fences, gardens, etc.
- Do not litter. Trash cans are accessible around the property. We follow Leave No Trace principles at the museum.
- Stay on the trails.
- Do not swim in the ponds.
