New Mexico Heritage Days
Attention teachers! Enliven your students’ exploration of history with a field trip to El Rancho de Las Golondrinas during New Mexico Heritage Days. These are special event days when the museum comes to life with costumed interpreters and hands-on activities just for students.
Spring 2025 Dates: April 9, 16, 23, 30 and May 7 (10am–2pm)
General Information
Fee: $3 per student, $6 per adult chaperone, Free for teachers/staff members
Staff/Chaperone to Student Ratio: 1 to 6
Reservations are required. To make a reservation, please click the button below and fill out the reservation form. Costs vary depending on the number of students and chaperones that will be attending.
Please note chaperone policy. To ensure optimal learning experiences for students, we allow a maximum of 1 chaperone for every 6 students, a 1:6 ratio. Bringing too many chaperones and family members causes overcrowding during the event and lessens the learning opportunities for students.

Field Trips
Bring your classroom to El Rancho de Las Golondrinas for an unforgettable field trip. Our museum spans 500 acres and includes over 30 historic buildings, each offering unique insights into New Mexico’s history. Guided tours are tailored to different grade levels, with opportunities for hands-on activities with costumed historical interpreters.

Outreach
Can’t make it to the museum? We can come to you! Our outreach programs bring the magic of El Rancho de Las Golondrinas directly to your classroom. Our team of educators and historians will visit your school to deliver dynamic presentations and interactive activities that align with your curriculum.
