Wetland Restoration
As stewards of the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve, El Rancho de Las Golondrinas is committed to honoring the land and the plants and animals who call it home.
As protectors of this site, we conduct regular monitoring to ensure that our use of the preserve is low-impact and does not disrupt the delicate ecosystem. Additionally, we help manage various projects focused on removing invasive species like the Russian Olive and Kochia and replanting native species like New Mexico Privet and Horsetail Milkweed.
We have been fortunate to partner with several local organizations that help facilitate the ongoing restoration efforts. These include:
- Institute for Applied Ecology
- Citizen Scientists
- New Mexico Butterfly Network
- Native Plant Society
