Join us for an evening celebrating one of the most misunderstood and most magnificent animals on Earth.

Bat conservationist and storyteller Teresa takes us on a journey through the wonderful world of bats: their lives, their roles in ecosystems, and the surprising connections they’ve sparked across cultures and continents.

After the talk, we’ll head outside for a live bat walk on the museum grounds, where you can listen for real bats using an echolocation detector and find your own bat voice with EchoVision, a mixed reality experience that lets you perceive the world through sound, just like a bat does. Whether you’re a lifelong nature lover or a total bat skeptic, this night will change the way you see and hear the world around you.

Teresa is a bat conservationist, storyteller, and nonprofit leader whose career began in photography and unexpectedly led her into the world of bats. Over nearly a decade managing one of the largest bat image archives in the world, she built international conservation campaigns, led fieldwork across four continents, and grew a global community of bat advocates. She now works at the intersection of art, science, and immersive technology, exploring how wonder and human-nature connection can drive real, lasting change.
